About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join a busy manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for manufacturing, maintaining and repairing production tooling to ensure reliable equipment performance and consistent product quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture and modify tooling to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Repair, service and maintain progressive press tools.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance, machining and bench fitting.
  • Use precision measuring equipment to verify tooling accuracy.
  • Conduct tooling trials and support production fault-finding activities.
  • Replace worn components and manufacture replacement tooling parts as required.
  • Identify tooling issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Follow all health, safety and quality procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Experience in toolmaking or precision engineering.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Practical machining and bench fitting skills.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts.

Desirable

  • Experience with progressive press tools.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance and high-speed manufacturing equipment.
