• Job Title: Technical Engineer/Manager (Design, Development & Manufacturing)
• Location: Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire / Humberside
• Salary: 30,000 - 40,000

Nicholas Associates Engineering & Technical are alongside a well-established manufacturer based in Hull who are embarking on an exciting period of change and growth, this is a newly created position to work alongside manage the existing team of dedicated engineers to introduce innovative ideas on both design and the manufacture of new and existing products.

This would be an exciting opportunity for an Engineer or an established hands on' manager with a background in Design, Development & Manufacturing who is looking to either take their next step up into management or for an established manager to grow a new and nurture a department for themselves.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• A varied manufacturing and engineering background within Fabrication, Metal Forming/Bending, Welding, Machining and Powder Coating environment.
• A strong knowledge of working with different types of metal and able to research alternative materials.
• Proficient with CAD, ideally AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Has successfully developed a range of existing products and managed new product development/introduction activities.
• Holds a formal education in mechanical engineering or related disciplines.
• Good leadership and people management skills you will be responsible for managing a team of 3 engineers.
• Able to work effectively across various departments Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality & Technical
• The ability to deliver to deadlines whilst achieving continuous improvement through a proactive approach towards manufacturing processes and design.

Note that this role would not suit an individual that enjoys been desk bound, nor would it suit someone that is looking to sit in an ivory tower - this is a varied and at times hands on' role that will see you carry out a number of tasks on the shop floor as well as at a CAD station. We are looking for an engineer in truest sense!
