Nicholas Associates Group (Engineering & Technical Division) is recruiting on behalf of a long-standing client for a Technical Buyer to join one of the region's most rapidly expanding SME manufacturing organisation, based in Leeds.

Summary:

The Technical buyer will take full ownership of the purchasing process (both direct and indirect procurement), working with anything from Raw Materials and Specialist Tooling through to PPE and Services.

This is a genuine opportunity to for an Procurement professional with manufacturing experience to grow a procurement department within a growing organisation.

Key Duties:

• Manage inventory levels, forecast material requirements and provide technical expertise on all procurement.
• Negotiate on goods/services.
• Initiate and participate in Supplier audits, development and appraisals.
• Manage the supplier selection process, seek to enhance the current process.
• Participate in procurement/sourcing projects relating to NPI.

Experience required:

• Procurement / Buying / sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment. Regulated manufacturing experience such as Aerospace/Defence, Automotive, Medical Devices and Oil & Gas is a distinct advantage.
• CIPS qualification is ideal, but not an essential requirement.
• Must be able to demonstrate successful commercial negotiating skills that ensure that costs are minimised at all stages of procurement.

Salary & Benefits

• 25,000 - 30,000 depending on experience
