SUPERVISOR FOR NIGHT SHIFTS REQUIRED
A well-known and reputable company in Bradford with almost 150 years of history is looking to employ a night's shift supervisor who can hit the ground running. They are looking for someone with great people and management skills who has personality and tenacity. You do not have to have experience in their field per say but a clear understanding of production and safety procedures is expected.
Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 22:00 to 06:00 and Friday 17:00 to 22:30, with occasional Saturday overtime.
They will pay up to a 29,000 basic for the right person.
Key functions & Responsibilities:
Leadership
Acts with humility;
Provides clarity; Safe working practices for the shift and visitors
Attend and contribute to daily production meetings
Follow the Production Plan and allocate resources, men and equipment to satisfy customers requirements
Authorise and monitor holidays for the shift (max 3 allowed off at any time)
Monitor the shift to identify improvements and compliance with SOPs
Complete and sign off check sheets at the start and finish of each shift.
Develop shift members to enable multi-tasking capability
Ensure that work is loaded into the process to achieve optimum productivity in line with the programme
Monitor and reduce pot immersion times to reduce zinc pick up Monitor shift defect -reports and improve the shift performance
Complete Compliance monitoring for shift personnel
Suggest and implement improvements to facilities and the work environment Improve shift efficiency
Participate (Lead) improvement teams
Encourages and listens to ideas and suggestions for improvement
Is receptive and responds well to feedback
Seeks to continually develop and improve self. (Knowledge, skills, experience)
Clearly communicates the shifts production/load plans and the work standards/expectations (SOPs) Shares regular updates on progress and performance (briefings)
Shares information openly and transparently to enable the shift-team and other colleagues to perform well
Demonstrates Commitment; Continually seeks opportunities to improve shift performance, team and self
Manages shift resources effectively to deliver production/load plans
Leads by example role-modelling the company values and high standards of performance and behaviour
Help people succeed;
Undertakes regular and effective performance reviews of shift team members providing feedback, recognition and challenge as appropriate.
