The basics:
Hours: Monday-Friday 39hr week flexible/office hours
Salary: 35,000-40,000
Job Title: Structural steel estimator
Job role in brief:
Reporting to the contracts director you will work closely with customers, suppliers, internal sales team and the manufacturing departments to create and cost projects.
You will produce accurate quotations that will include the likes of materials, labour and other associated costs to ensure margins are correct.
This will be a customer focused role, where you will be required to follow up quotations to secure orders.
The ideal Structural steel estimator will have as many of the following in order to strengthen application:
-A understanding of steel structures and steel fabrication
-An in depth knowledge of bid compilation, estimating procedures and standard cost modelling.
-Strong numerical/financial analysis
-HNC in Mechanical Engineering beneficial
-Strong presentation skills assessed at interview
-Ideally experience of working with large projects and quotations of circa 0.25 million to 5 million pounds
-The ability to work within a project deadline environment and work well under pressure

Brief Overview of duties:
Prepare estimates for new business generated by the sales team
Work closely with customers, suppliers, fabrication/production and sales
Present bids to customers and potential customers explain costings
