Search for Site Agent jobs in Warwickshire

My client, a very well established and respected civil engineering contractor is looking for an experienced Site Agent to lead a significant HS2 track drainage package across three separate work fronts, in Warwickshire.

The package involves the construction of HS2-standard track drainage systems, including drainage runs, chambers and associated infrastructure, together with a smaller element of reinforced concrete works including ground beams and pile caps.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall delivery of the package, working closely with the Project Manager, Senior Engineers, Works Managers, subcontractors and the wider project team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the safe and efficient delivery of the drainage package across three work fronts.
  • Manage and coordinate Senior Engineers, Site Supervisors, subcontractors and site operatives.
  • Plan and sequence works to maintain programme across multiple concurrent work fronts.
  • Ensure drainage works are constructed in accordance with the latest design, specification and HS2 requirements.
  • Oversee excavation, installation and backfilling of drainage systems, chambers and associated infrastructure.
  • Manage the associated reinforced concrete works, including ground beams and pile caps.
  • Coordinate with design, engineering, temporary works, quality and commercial teams to resolve technical and construction issues.
  • Review and manage RAMS, ITPs, permits, inspections and quality documentation.
  • Manage subcontractor performance, productivity and coordination.
  • Monitor progress against programme and identify and address potential delays at an early stage.
  • Support the Project Manager with programme, cost, change and risk management.
  • Manage technical queries, design changes, NCRs and construction issues through to resolution.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with the client, principal contractor and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with Galldris and HS2 health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
  • Take ownership of the day-to-day delivery and coordination of the package.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Agent delivering major civil engineering projects.
  • Strong experience in drainage construction, preferably on major infrastructure or rail projects.
  • Experience managing multiple work fronts and sizeable site teams.
  • Good technical understanding of drainage construction, excavation, chambers, pipework and associated earthworks.
  • Experience of reinforced concrete works, ideally including ground beams, pile caps and associated foundations.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, temporary works and site logistics.
  • Excellent understanding of construction drawings, specifications, RAMS and ITPs.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple disciplines.
  • Strong programme and short-term planning skills.
  • Good communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience of working on HS2, Tier 1 infrastructure or similarly complex major projects would be advantageous.
  • Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) qualification/experience is highly desirable.
  • NEC contract experience would be advantageous.

We are looking for an experienced and technically capable Site Agent who can take ownership of the package and drive delivery across the three work fronts, rather than a purely supervisory candidate.
