An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Agent to join a major civil engineering and highways project in Blackburn. The scheme includes 278 works, roundabout relocation, carriageway widening, and the construction of a new compound entrance.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour resources.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress and implement recovery measures where required.
  • Liaise with the client, stakeholders, local authorities, and utility providers.
  • Review and manage temporary works, traffic management, and construction methodologies.
  • Maintain accurate site records and reporting documentation.
  • Support commercial teams with progress updates and change management.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Agent within highways projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and construction management principles.
  • SMSTS certification.
  • CSCS card.
  • First Aid qualification preferred.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple work fronts in a live construction environment.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering highway improvement schemes.
  • Knowledge of earthworks, drainage, road construction, and utility coordination.
