Due to continued growth and strong order books we now require a shift leader to join the business in our aerospace and precision engineering section.

The basics:

Job Title: Shift leader

Location: Derby

Salary: 30,000-34,000 basic + Bonus and shift premium = 34,600 - 38,600 + Overtime on top of this!

Shift: Monday to Thursday Afternoon shift, with a short day shift on a Friday.

Work environment: Clean, modern, warm manufacturing facilities

The role in brief:

• Lead the shift with management and production duties
• Lead and be part of the recruitment process, appraisal process, absence monitoring, disciplinary and other supporting duties to the production manager
• Carry out production work
• Continuous improvement project work
• Coach and mentor

The ideal Shift Leader will have as many of the below in order to strengthen application:

• A supervisory/management/team leading background ideally within a precision engineering/machine shop environment
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• ILM Management Cert – beneficial
• Health and safety focused
• Cost efficient/cost reduction aware
• Waste reduction focused
• Competent at managing a team within a precision engineering environment.
