My client is an international engineering and construction (EPC) contractor delivering large-scale renewable energy, grid stability and energy transition projects across Europe and globally, currently recruiting for a Setting Out Engineer for a project in Swaffham, Norfolk.


The Setting Out Engineer will be responsible for all surveying and setting out activities associated with the delivery of a renewable energy infrastructure project in Swaffham, Norfolk. The role will support civil and structural installation works ensuring all construction activities are delivered accurately, safely and in accordance with project specifications, drawings and programme requirements.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining quality standards, supporting subcontractors and ensuring the project is delivered efficiently.

Duties:

  • Carry out all setting out duties for:
    • Access roads
    • Foundations
    • Drainage
    • Cable routes and trenching
    • Substation infrastructure
    • Equipment bases
    • Steelwork and associated civils:

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer on:
    • Renewable energy projects
    • Infrastructure projects
    • Civil engineering works
    • Substations or power projects
  • Proficient with:
    • Leica / Trimble surveying equipment
    • AutoCAD
    • GPS and robotic total stations
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Earthworks
    • Reinforced concrete
    • Drainage
    • Utilities and ducting
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • CSCS card (essential).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong commitment to health & safety standards.
