Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client is a civil engineering contractor who are looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor on their HS2 construction project in the Warwickshire.

Scope of Works:

Contractor is delivering the civil engineering, bridges, structures and infrastructure to HS2 projects across the West Midlands, works includes bridge construction, earthworks, FRC, structures.

Responsibilities and duties:  



  • Work closely with project management and engineering teams and liaise with Employers commercial team and client team.


  • Produce documentation / evidence to demonstrate KPI achievement.


  • Competent in the application of IT skills to commercial management and the production of project documentation.


  • Maintain commercial and technical knowledge and work closely with technical staff to develop appropriate techniques and solutions for the project.


  • Assist with preparation of periodic progress valuations and claims for work completed.


  • Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts, and contract budget reports.


  • Maintain effective, accurate cost control.


  • Ensure contractual and commercial risks and opportunities for realising efficiencies are identified to the Project and Commercial Managers.


 

Experience/Knowledge:



  • Degree in Building Surveying or similar technical qualification (HND HNC)


  • Royal institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Membership


  • CSCS Card


  • Wide experience of civil engineering. Manage all commercial aspects of the project and be fluent in contract law and terminology


  • High proficiency in operating the NEC3 Options A, B and C forms of contract


  • Must be capable of producing robust Cost Plans and CVR s and presenting to regional managers/board


  • Experience of managing a team


  • Ability to use a range of IT packages, Microsoft Office and bespoke packages


  • Exceptional relationship building skills


  • Self-motivated and proactive Commercial awareness and understanding of the Construction process


  • Excellent communication skills, both oral & written


  • Positive attitude at all times and the ability to integrate and play active part in the Construction Team


  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines
