A well-established residential civil engineering and groundworks company based in Banbury is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its growing Commercial Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional with residential groundworks experience to take ownership of projects and play a key role in ensuring commercial success from inception through to final account.


The Role

Reporting to a Senior Member of the Commercial Team , you will lead the commercial function of allocated projects and act as the primary point of contact for all commercial matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial management of assigned projects
  • Act as the main point of contact for all commercial queries, concerns, and actions
  • Ensure full compliance with contractual responsibilities
  • Procure key subcontractors and suppliers
  • Prepare, submit, and agree monthly applications for payment
  • Prepare, submit, and agree project variations, claims, and design changes
  • Agree and process subcontractor and supplier payments
  • Prepare project forecasts and cost plans
  • Produce accurate reports analysing profitability and commercial progress
  • Ensure compliance with company and departmental procedures and deadlines

Essential Requirements

  • Working toward or completed a degree in Quantity Surveying (or similar discipline)
  • 3-6 years' experience in residential groundworks Quantity Surveying
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Clear understanding of company procedures and ability to meet deadlines

Desirable Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
