Quantity Surveyor Civils

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to work for a Tier 1 client on a road widening project near Oxford.

Reporting to a visiting Senior Quantity Surveyor, responsibilities will include;


  • Responsibility for the day-to-day administration of the commercial function of the project
  • Cost management reporting and supporting, change management, procurement
  • A deep understanding of the project’s contractual and commercial requirements, including contractual compliance, quality and risk management.
  • A thorough understanding and competent execution of the monthly reconciled values and updated forecasts for approval by the Commercial Manager/Senior Quantity Surveyor.
  • A sound understanding around the valuations cycle and associated deadlines, prioritising and managing both your own as well as the team’s time accordingly.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with the client to agree valuations and variations.
  • Interface with and form productive/effective relationships with the site team(s).

About You:



  • Prvevious experience as Quantity Surveyor with a civil engineering contractor.


  • You will be commercially driven and astute, with a flair for building relationships with clients, contractors and the operational team.



  • Experience on civil engineering, heavy civils, infrastructure, groundworks, 278 works projects.
  • Expertise in administering high value, multi-disciplinary construction project work packages/contracts utilising forms of contract such as JCT and NEC suites. (NEC option A experience is preferred)
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.
  • Work well to deadlines with strong initiative and self-motivation
  • Drivers licence
