Our client is a groundworks and civil engineering contractor who are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor. The company carries out groundworks, drainage, roads and sewer projects ranging from 1M - 10M in value for major house builders and developers.

This is an excellent opportunity to work for a privately-owned business that has been established for over 15 years. On offer to the successful candidate is a long-term position within a stable and growing company. The business has a large workload for the coming years.

Reporting to a Commercial Director, the Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the following duties:

Monthly valuations - Sites operate on a gross cumulative basis.
Ensure site cost control.
Liaising with site foreman on a daily basis to ensure they build/construct whats allowed for within quotations.
Liaise with client QSs and construction personnel on a daily basis regarding construction matters, outstanding payments and variations,
Prepare quotes for variation works and submit to client QSs for approval.
Liaise with buyers to ensure they purchase the correct materials and quantities
Take off foundations, drainage, external works for tendering purposes
Procurement and selection of specialist subcontractor appointment and accounts.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying with a minimum 5 years Quantity Surveying experience in groundworks or civil engineering preferably within the residential sector.
