Quality Technician

An established engineering and manufacturing business is seeking a Quality Technician to join its SHEQ team, supporting quality processes across fabrication and machining operations.

This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail who enjoys working with technical documentation, quality records and inspection data. You will play an important part in ensuring accurate quality reporting and maintaining high standards across the business.

Working closely with Quality Engineers, you will provide administrative and technical support to quality assurance activities across the organisation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain quality control documentation and checking sheets
    * Produce material traceability records and supporting documentation
    * Review inspection reports and verify product conformance against requirements
    * Generate clear and accurate quality reports for customers and internal stakeholders
    * Collate and manage quality-related data and records
    * Ensure quality documentation is completed accurately and in full
    * Conduct process audits and support continuous improvement initiatives
    * Assist with root cause investigations and corrective action activities
    * Support implementation of preventative actions to reduce repeat issues
    * Interpret engineering drawings and specifications
    * Support compliance with quality management systems and standards

About You

  • Previous experience within a quality, manufacturing or engineering environment
    * Knowledge of fabrication, machining or heavy manufacturing processes
    * Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
    * Ability to review technical information and identify discrepancies
    * Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation
    * Familiarity with ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems advantageous
    * Good communication skills and the ability to work across multiple departments
    * Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
