Project Manager - Groundworks

Are you a Project Manager looking for a fresh challenge? Aspire to develop within a highly reputable Groundworks and Civil Engineering contractor long term? My client is currently seeking an Experienced Project Manager with a proven track record based within the Midlands.

General Purpose of Role

To be responsible for all resources within the project and on site, specifically ESH, quality, labour, materials and plant. To satisfy the customer and control, monitor and report on the project's profitability.

Duties of Role:

  • Ensure environmental, safety and health policies and procedures are observed by all workers on site, including sub-contractors and those employed through a third party. Specific regards should be given to the practice of work permits, method statements, risk and COSHH assessments
  • Provide customer focus and ensure that all the customer's requirements are understood and satisfied
  • Define the scope of the project and develop a project plan including milestones
  • Plan, monitor and control the efficient use of all resources (labour, materials and plant) on site
  • Identify opportunities for cost saving and performance improvement
  • Control costs within expected budgets to ensure project profitability
  • Observe the company's quality policies and procedures and assure the quality of the project/services

You will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Previous construction project management experience with a groundworks or civil engineering contractor.
  • Experience of managing substantial and multiple projects
  • SHEQ legislation
  • Project management including production of project programmes
  • MS Office (Word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook)
  • Knowledge of design drawing and technical information
  • Bills of quantities and measurements of works
