Nicholas Associates are seeking to hire a Production Operative to join an expanding global business in the FMCG sector based in the Chesterfield area. If you are enthusiastic, focussed and ambitious with the desire to develop in a thriving business then this could be the role for you.
Key Role Objectives & Responsibilities:
• Operation of Actuator assembly production lines and semi-automated Valve and Pump machines working on a rotational basis.
• Perform quality control tasks according to cycle of control to ensure products conform to customer specifications taking full responsibility for accurate and timely checks.
• Reviewing machine faults and rectifying to ensure continuous production.
• Repair/refurb components that are used in the production lines/machines.
• Preventative and routine technical maintenance & cleaning.
• Be fully trained on the automated systems which includes Laser Guided Vehicles and fully automated palletisers.
• Perform quality control according to cycle of control to ensure products conform to customer specifications.
• Using the challenge checks to test for any Quality errors or faults
• Responsible for the upkeep of tools/tool boxes in ensuring having all of the tools at hand all of the time.
• Responsible for the upkeep of the Production workshop in both using and cleaning.
• Support the business with Holiday/absence cover.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety practices and adhere to housekeeping measures.
• Actively looking to improve on Productivity and share this drive with other shifts.
• Testing and hands-on development (Kaizen improvement system)
Key Skills and Experience
• HSE Awareness
• Product awareness and identification
• Operating automated & Semi-automated production lines.
• Mechanical/Pneumatic and Electrical experience advantageous.
• Committed team player willing to support and help colleagues.
• Working in a busy production environment.
• Analytical & Computer Skills.
• Ability to read diagrams, technical drawings & manuals.
• Ability to fault find to component level.
• Ability to understand production planning to ensure production flow
• Experience of “5 why’s”
Hours and Benefits: -
• £12.91 per hour (including 15% shift allowance)
• Full time/permanent position
• 24/7 shift pattern – 2 days shifts (6am to 6pm) followed by 2 night shifts (6pm to 6am) followed by 4 days off
