About the role:
Manage the day-to-day activities of the production team
Provide leadership and guidance to Team Leaders in individual production areas
Co-ordinate work force availability including holidays, absenteeism and disciplinary issues
Develop LEAN Manufacturing processes, tools and techniques
Set production objectives in line with the Operations Management
Update Operations Manager on production activities and issues
Communicate KPI information to the production team and ensure targets are met
Guarantee adherence to production processes, specifications and quality management systems
Generate NCR's (Non-Conformance Reports) where required
Ensure maintenance and calibration controls of all equipment is carried out in line with company policies
Assist in Continuous Improvements activities
About You:
Sound knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (Kaizen, SMED, 5S and Value Stream Mapping) to identify cost savings
Previous experience of production leadership
Ability to implement and develop LEAN procedures
Previous experience of working in a complicated manufacturing environment
Computer literate
MRP systems experience/knowledge
