Process Metallurgist

Process Metallurgist to work for an exciting West Midlands Engineering Company

The role will offer excellent career progression in the future for a Metallurgist who can take responsibility for all technical and process aspects of the Forge and Heat Treatment Departments

This is a key role in the business as you must ensure processess are followed correctly , setting process standards and controls , inputting into material selection and manufacturing methods to achieve consistent heat treatment properties

The role

Technical control of Forging and Heat Treatment

Material selection and provide technical support to the commercial and production teams

Provide process control and technical advice to ensure metallurgical control to specifications

Build a Metallographic database

Assist in investigations of quality/non conformance issues

Provide technical input in R+D activities

Drive continuous improvement through a better understanding of metallurgical issues

The person

Ambitious and driven and looking for an excellent career with scope to take on a senior role in the future

A Degree or similar in Metallurgy

Ideally experience of metallography preparation and analysis
