Position : Operations Manager, General Manager, Workshop Manager

Location : South Yorkshire

Sector : Engineering, manufacturing, service, maintenance, repair, refurbishment

Salary : 50-60,000

About You

  • Have proven experience at opertional management level in an engineering / manufacturing / service & repair environment
  • Holds a formal qualification in engineering (mechanical, electrical, maintenance, manufacturing)
  • Have a systematic approach to record keeping and ensuring processes and procedures are followed
  • Strong people management skills
  • Be competent in using Microsoft software
  • Have good communication skills
  • Have overall responsibility for the service department and contract maintenance, production, warehousing and purchasing
  • Have the ability to deal with and satisfy customer needs
  • Have a driving licence, vehicle will be provided
  • Experience of working to standards such as ISO 9001, 14001, 18001
  • IOSH accrediation preferred

About the role

  • Ensure timely delivery of manufactured / assembled products
  • Ensure timely delivery of serviced / repaired / refurbished products

People Management

  • Responsible for a multi-skilled, mutli-disciplined team of around 20 people including technical, office and commercial staff

Contracts and Planning

  • Have the ability to deal with Conditions of Contract for site maintenance contracts and attend reviews on site as required
  • Produce contract maintenance forecasts
  • Check and sign Annual test certificates for operations carried out by Contract maintenance
  • Will develop supplier relationships, e.g. energy suppliers, telephony, vehicles, insurances, IT etc
  • Will work closely with HR to plan and implement staff training
  • Be responsible for the rolling weekly stock count
  • Carry out late delivery analysis and improvement
