The basics:

Job Title: Mechanical Fitter

Location: Dumfries

Industry: Manufacturing

Salary: £33400 to £35000 DOE + OT = earnings of £38000 and upwards achievable (Base salary is negotiated by the Unions and will be increasing shortly)

Shift: Monday to Friday days only

Overview:

With manufacturing sites located across the UK you will be part of a larger group that produce products that are always in need.

Key responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter role:

- To maintain service and repair all automated machinery to minimise production down time using engineering techniques

- Provide technical support on all projects, installations and breakdowns

- PPM's

The ideal candidate / Mechanical Fitter may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:

- Time served apprentice trained

- Educated in a relevant discipline - City and Guilds/NVQ level 3/HNC/HND etc.

- Previous experience working as a Mechanical Fitter within a machinery maintenance environment would be beneficial

- Mechanically competent - ideally working with hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, heavy duty machinery

-Any welding skills beneficial for repair work

- Basic electrical skills changing like for like parts beneficial - motors etc.
