We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join one of the UK's largest contractors working on HS2.

This Managing Quantity Surveyor role will be working as part of the civil engineering / structures team. This scheme will be over 3 - 4 years initially, with a strong orderbook within the region.

Duties:

  • Measure, record & value work unsupervised in accordance with appropriate rules and procedures
  • Attend weekly client meetings
  • Measure & interpret specifications & drawings
  • Prepare internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliation (CVR's)
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities and Schedules of rates if required
  • Review weekly, monthly, section programmes of works
  • Plan commercial activities to meet monthly timescales
  • Preparation of Cost reconciliation statements
  • Collect information required to specify procurement requirements.
  • Management of Sub Contractors Accounts


Experience/Knowledge:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar technical qualification (HND HNC)
  • Royal institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Membership (preferred)
  • Strong NEC experience with complete understanding of Options B
  • Experience in FRC/Bridges/Structures/Civil Engineering projects
  • Experience of being client facing
  • Ability to use a range of IT packages, Microsoft Office and bespoke packages
  • Exceptional relationship building skills, good client facing
  • Self-motivated and proactive Commercial awareness and understanding of the Construction process
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral & written
  • Negotiation skills
  • Good organisational and management skills with the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines
