I have an excellent opportunity for a for an experienced Laminator working a continental shift pattern in Gainsborough. This is a fixed term contract until the end of 2018. There is a possibility the contract could be extended and possibly go permanent ongoing. An immediate start is available for the right candidate.

The main focus of the role is to produce high quality products to customer specification.

Main duties will include but are not restricted to:

  • Working to production plan and following instructions, operate lamination machine as per training given to meet quality and efficiency standards.
  • Processing of various film substrates including barrier and PET to ensure functionality of all products produced.
  • Ensure information is entered onto Prism correctly and accurately as per training given.
  • Ensure that adhesives are mixed correctly and to the correct ratios.
  • Correct machine settings including coat weight, machine pressures, product appearance, speed of machine, correct gaps and temperatures.
  • Complete all quality checks for processes, and report any issues to Team Leader.
  • Ensure all standard operating procedures are adhered to (e.g. PPE, health and safety, hygiene, quality)
  • Working with and contributing to Continuous improvement activity across site
  • Provide holiday cover in line with production agreement, and provide sickness cover where possible.
  • Maintain good housekeeping around lamination machines. Lamination machines must be kept clean at all times inclusive of 5s audits.

Person specification - Who you need to be

  • Practicable (trained) working knowledge of running lamination machines within flexible packaging (solvent-free, solvent-based and anti-mist coatings) similar to Nordmechanica or Comexi
  • Good attendance and timekeeping
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Good organisational and self-motivational skills
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
