Where you fit: As a Junior Quantity Surveyor you will develop the commercial skills needed to support the success of Maple's projects. Working closely with the Commercial Manager and wider delivery team, you will be given real project exposure and structured support to build your cost management, contractual, and financial control expertise.

Key Objective: To learn and apply the principles of cost planning, commercial control, and value management on live projects, supporting the Commercial Manager and wider team while developing towards a fully qualified Quantity Surveyor role.

Job Challenge: To build the knowledge and confidence to support financial and contractual control across projects, learning how costs are managed within budget, how risks are identified early, and how variations are captured, valued, and agreed.

Main tasks:

* Assist the Commercial Manager and wider commercial team in monitoring the commercial performance of projects.
* Assist in preparing project cost plans, budgets, and forecasts under supervision.
* Support the drafting and submission of interim valuations, learning how final accounts are agreed.
* Assist with the accurate and timely preparation of applications for payment.
* Help track and value variations, supporting agreement with clients and supply chain partners.
* Observe and support the negotiation of contracts, warranties, and commercial terms, building understanding of the process.
* Assist with procurement administration, subcontractor appointments, and supply chain management tasks.
* Assist in preparing cost reports and cash flow forecasts, developing an eye for risks or opportunities.
* Attend site and client meetings alongside senior colleagues to build commercial and project awareness.
* Support the maintenance of the Work in Progress (WIP) sheet and wider commercial reporting.
* Learn to identify and flag commercial risks to the Commercial Manager as part of day-to-day project support.
* Engage actively with training, study support, and any structured development or mentoring provided, working towards professional qualification.

Key Performance Indicators:
These will include, but will not be limited to:
* Accuracy and reliability of work produced, with attention to detail.
* Timeliness and quality of support provided on applications for payment and variations.
* Progress against agreed training, study, and professional development plan.
* Growing contribution to project commercial performance under supervision.
* Quality of commercial reporting to the Commercial Manager.
