Position : IT Support Technician (2nd / 3rd Line)
Location : Doncaster, South Yorkshire - easily commutable from Rotherham, Barnsley, Wakefield, Doncaster, Pontefract, Dearne Valley, Adwick Le Street
Salary : 25,000 - 30,000 according to experience and ability
About the role :
Providing 2nd and 3rd Line IT support to customers
Assisting with major projects eg installations, upgrades, migrations etc
Assist and support 1st (and 2nd) line Support Engineers with workload
Provide coaching to 1st (and 2nd) line support to improve first time success rates and reduce repeat occurrences.
About you :
Previous experience of 2nd or 3rd Line Support is essential
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to explain technical subjects calmly and patiently
Formal qualification to Level 3 in a relevant subject OR appropriate certifications eg MCSE, CompTIA Network+, ITIL,
Able to offer support via telephone and remote access tools for hardware and software issues
Experience of incident & request call logging systems is preferred
Any experience of project management is beneficial but not essential
Ambitious and eager to learn
Experience of as many of the following as possible :-
oMicrosoft Server and Desktop operating systems through to 2019 (2003/2008/2008R2/SBS/2012 Server/XP/Vista/7/8)
oCore Microsoft infrastructure technologies and solutions (Exchange, IIS, AD, RDS)
oHosted / Cloud managed environments, particularly Microsoft Azure.
oNetworking - VPNs, VLANs, LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP
oBackup technologies
oServer hardware maintenance and troubleshooting
oFirewalls (PFSense, Sonicwall, Watchguard, Sophos UTM)
oOffice 365
