Job Description
My client is an expert in the development and production of carbon-ceramic materials.
What you'll be doing as our Heat Treatment Maintenance Engineer:
- Preventative and reactive maintenance of a variety of manufacturing equipment including furnaces, vacuum pumps, cooling farms, refrigeration plant, etc.
- Preventative and reactive maintenance of a variety of equipment systems, including pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, vacuum, HVAC etc.
- Plan and prioritise workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time.
- Implement preventative maintenance on all plant equipment, including the building (internal, external and security).
- Responding to breakdowns at pace, identify fault and problem solve with minimal downtime to production.
- Carry out breakdown root causes analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Reporting of equipment faults and concerns to management, including root cause analysis.
- Responsible for all electrical work including lighting, installation & fault finding.
- Work within 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain) methodology to maintain workplace to a high standard.
- Ensuring that all electrical and P&ID drawings are up to date.
- Comply with all H&S procedures, legislation and company policies.
- Ensure all work is undertaken to a high-quality standard.
- Working alongside Contractors as and when required.
- Communicate effectively within all departments.
- Contribute to continuous improvement throughout the Maintenance System.
Support:
- Guided by Engineers with significant experience in furnace Engineering, Operation and Maintenance as well as extended furnace related re-engineering projects
- Networked in to external OEM furnace experts
The Skills, Knowledge and Experience you will need as their Heat Treatment Maintenance Engineer:
- You will hold at least a HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Need to have:
- Transferrable skills to be able to work in a multidisciplinary manufacturing environment.
- A delivery focus approach to work.
- Understanding of PLC's, Variable drives, control, and instrumentation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative.
- The ability to work as part of a team and on your own with minimum supervision.
- A current driver's license and access to a car.
- MS Office skills.

Salary: £39,480
Hours: Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm, Friday 8am - 2.30pm
