Health & Safety Manager

 

Our client is a successful contractor who is based in London and specialises in the construction of reinforced concrete frames and groundworks packages. They are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join their team.

 

Responsibilities:



  • Ensuring compliance with acts and regulations, i.e. CDM, HASAWA, LOLER, PUWER, etc


  • Facilitating & presenting project Risk Reviews


  • Preparing for upcoming risks and planning opportunities and innovation with the project team


  • Developing monthly, quarterly and annual H&S reports


  • Liaising with Training Manager & Project Team to implement project training strategies




  • Carrying out H&S campaigns to improve Health, Safety and Wellbeing


  • Planning and monitoring lifting operations


  • Engaging in safety action groups


  • Working with the project team and client counterparts to maintain the high standards on site


  • Assessing and carrying out skills training


  • Carrying out Internal HS&E audits


  • Support with external ISO audits


 

Experience/Knowledge:



  • NEBOSH / Professional H&S qualification


  • CSCS Card


  • 4 – 5 years experience within Health and Safety with a specialist sub-contractor or principal contractor


  • Previous experience in RC frame/groundworks/civil engineering


  • IT skills mandatory – MS Office competent


  • Strong understanding of health and safety laws and regulations


  • Ability to identify and assess hazards, develop and implement safety procedures


  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and stakeholders, work well as part of a team
