Head of Digital Marketing

Position: Group Head of Digital Marketing

Location: South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, North Nottinghamshire, M1 corridor. You will need to live within a reasonable daily commute as the majority of the work will need to be done on site.

About the Role:

To provide vision and leadership for the strategic development of the digital marketing function for the Group. To take the current Group digital marketing strategy and to implement & manage it to deliver world class standards of digital marketing and communication.

Role Specifics:

A full and comprehensive overview of all aspects of the role is available, but the headlines will be :-

Strategic Development
o steering best practice to ensure the best possible user experience
o overseeing social media strategy
o devising and delivering content marketing strategy

Team Management
o Managing a team of 7 covering digital media content, web and communications

Digital Performance Management
oUsing analytical tools to measure overall digital performance and to devise KPIs and performance targets

Online Brand Management
o Managing brand and product campaigns to increase awareness, ensuring that the message is consistent across all Group business units and geographical locations

Digital Innovation Management
o Ensuring that the Group continues to be at the forefront of the marketing focused digital landscape

Social Media Management
o Lead the development and stewardship of the social media presence of the Group and the marketing team

Budgetary Management
o Planning and control of all budgets with regards to digital marketing

Stakeholder Management
o Building collaborative relationships with key Stakeholders across the Group, ensuring participation in steering groups and working committees.
o Managing third party relationships

About You:

A degree level qualification in Marketing is very much preferred. We will also consider people with a degree in a similar field such as Communications, Advertising, Psychology or Business Management as long as you have proven experience in digital marketing in a professional capacity.
Post-Graduate qualifications are beneficial
Chartered Marketeer or working towards Chartered status preferred
Live within 1 hour commute of South Yorkshire / North Derbyshire / North Nottinghamshire and happy to be in an office based (as opposed to home working) role. The position will require frequent interaction with colleagues on a face to face basis and as such will necessitate most of your time to be spent at the Head Office location. Travel to other sites, including internationally, may also be required on an infrequent basis.
Able to demonstrate prior experience of leading the transformation of a marketing function from fundamental / traditional / off-line marketing to digital marketing. Able to articulate and give examples of processes adopted, what worked and what didn't work, lessons learned etc.
It may be an advantage if you have experience of an engineering / manufacturing environment but we are happy to consider any industry sector as long as you have the necessary digital marketing experience at a senior level.
Fluent written and spoken English, with the ability to recognise that your audience may not have English as their mother tongue.
Proven people management / team management experience.
Experience of driving corporate communications via digital platforms.
Customer facing, comfortable with interacting with customers to generate feedback on activity.
A natural influencer, able to get people to buy in to change and to embrace new ideas.
Project / programme management experience with regards to strategic change.
Able to define requirements and conduct suppler selection processes.
Not willing to accept good enough, always striving to push the boundaries of excellence.
Able to measure success, using analytics and data to drive decision making
Experience of as many of the following as possible :-
oSocial Media, PPC, SEO, instant messaging, on-line chat, video
oAutomation of marketing platforms
oThe metrics of measuring success within marketing, especially digital marketing
oBest practice within digital marketing
oSoftware such as html coding, video editing and packaging, podcasts, content management etc
