Graduate Project and Design Engineer - Manufacturing

Are you a graduate who has some industry experience either through a placement year or after your degree within a manufacturing environment?

If so we have an excellent opportunity to join the Design and Projects departments within the business.

The company:

With manufacturing facilities located across the UK, you will be working in a modern open plan office environment. The company manufacture and engineer bespoke products, and can offer all the benefits that come with working for a large company – job security, career progression, great benefits and professional work environment/structure.

The role:

As the Graduate Project and Design Engineer you will be working in a varied role, your core tasks will be Modifying Designs, Costings, Programming CAM software. (Full training given)

As the Graduate Project and Design Engineer you will work closely with manufacturing and technical personnel, and will help design new products for internal use.

The basics

Hours: Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm

Salary: 25,000 per annum

Location: Alfreton

Training: Full product training, along with training on CAM software and costing of jobs given.

Holidays/Benefits: 31 days holiday, Company Pension, free onsite parking, real scope for progression in this large manufacturer

Duties

  • Modifying existing products/drawings (AutoCAD or Solidworks)
  • Programming of CAM software (CNC Router & Punch)
  • Create new drawings for internal products (to assist in the production)

The ideal Graduate Project and Design Engineer will have as many of the following skills in order to strengthen application:

  • A Strong understanding of AutoCAD or Solidworks
  • Be Degree Educated in an Engineering discipline – ideally mechanical
  • Be commutable to Alfreton
  • Have an understanding of machine shop/machining principles

Training:

This is a bespoke product, so all product training will be given on the product. You will also be trained on CAM software

Role suitability:

This role will suit someone who has done a 1 year placement during their degree or with some work experience. You will be working primarily as a design engineer but with a variation of projects.
