Our client is a well-established residential groundworks contractor, specialising in infrastructure civils, earthworks, and plot groundworks. They are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Estimator to join their team based in Sheffield.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional with a strong background in estimating within the groundworks industry to contribute to a reputable contractor known for delivering high-quality residential and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare competitive tenders and detailed cost estimates
· Review engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation
· Help compile bills of quantities and material take-offs
· Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations
· Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required
· Learn to identify and evaluate commercial risks and opportunities in civil/groundworks packages
Requirements:
· Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience
· Proven experience in estimating within the civil engineering or groundworks sector.
· Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing.
· Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong communication and negotiation skills.
