Nicholas Associates have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Buyer to join a reputable groundworks and civil engineering contractor in the West Midlands.

Key Responsibilities:
· Build relationships and manage suppliers, negotiate prices and place orders
· Managing the day-to-day project procurement of materials
· Liaising with the on-site teams to source the most cost-effective materials, of the highest quality
· Monitoring the performance, quality, prices and development of suppliers
· Ensuring health and safety compliance
· Identifying new potential suppliers and products
· Preparing quotations and proposals
· Attending team meetings and site visits
· Preparing and maintaining cost reports to maximise efficiency
Requirements:
· Previous experience as a Buyer with a groundworks or civil engineering contractor
· Knowledge of groundworks materials, aggregates, asphalt, concreate and drainage
· Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with suppliers and the site teams
· Computer literate including Microsoft Office and confident in managing and working with large data sets
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
