Our client is a Groundworks & Civil engineering contractor based in the West Midlands. The company focus predominantly within the residential and commercial groundworks market working alongside several large volume House Builders and Main Contractors.

The company are looking to recruit a highly motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to the Commercial Team.

Role and Responsibilities:

• 
  

  Report to a Commercial Manager

• 
  

  Monthly valuations, assessment of drawing revisions and picking up all variations.

• 
  

  Measure completed working drawings to produce a bill of quantities

• 
  

  Working on projects ranging from £500k-£10m

• 
  

  Manage sites under your control, ensure that you fully understand the scope of works included within the tender.

• 
  

  Provide support to the Contracts Managers and Sie Supervisors.

• 
  

  Sub-Contract payments

Qualifications

• 
  

  Degree in Quantity Surveying (preferred but not essential)

• 
  

  Minimum 1 – 3 years experience as a Trainee/Assistant QS or Quantity Surveyor with a civil engineering or building contractor

• 
  

  Experience of working for a Residential or Commercial Groundworks sub-contractor

  Excellent organisational skills

• 
  

  Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner

• 
  

  Ability to build and manage relationships with clients

• 
  

  Good technical and contractual knowledge

• 
  

  Computer literate
