The Main Purpose of the Job

Reporting to the First Line Manager the Advanced operator is a highly motivated proactive multi skilled line\area operative able to optimise production equipment to maximise efficiencies, with minimal waste and down time. This is achieved through the effective preparation, planning and organisation of machines, and completion of documentation.

Key Accountabilities

Quality

  • To deliver industry leading quality. Meeting, beating and raising the bar of consumer
  • Carry out process control checks at set intervals ensuring adherence to specification.

Delivery

  • Drive continuous improvement using a team based approach guided by data and facts.
  • At the start of shift ensure area \ production line is ready by checking appropriate machines and areas are set to correct performance, food safety and hygiene
  • Ensure equipment is working at optimum performance levels taking corrective
  • action where necessary.
  • Using the production plan make sufficient materials available to allow continual production, optimum running and flexibility of area \ line to minimise downtime and achieve the production
  • Make running adjustments and carry out size changes and minor repairs to optimise
  • Operator Care tasks
  • Advise First Line Manager of any issues preventing the production plan being achieved.
  • Taking a proactive role in continuous improvement and pillar group
  • Safety and Environment
  • Conduct our operations in a safe and environmentally responsible
  • Conduct line safety start up checks taking appropriate action to remedy/ report any

The Individual

The successful applicant will;

  • Be reliable, self-motivated and possess an excellent attendance and disciplinary record.
  • Must be able to prioritise workload and work well under pressure.
  • Have good numeracy and literacy skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Be able to work on own initiative, forward plan, problem solve, and make effective decisions
  • Have an understanding and appreciation of HACCP principles, health and safety, hygiene, food hygiene & legality
  • Have good food manufacturing Excellence
  • Have good ICT skills

As a flexible individual and as part of a team you must be prepared to work varied hours to suit the needs of the business.

There are a number of positions available on the following shifts;

  • 4 on 4 off rotating basis. Working 6am – 6pm.
  • Monday – Friday, 5am – 1pm
  • Monday – Friday, 1pm – 9pm
